Saturday 7th November, 10am - 1pm

At Castle Beach, Falmouth

Connect, explore and play with the sensory, tactile nature of seaweed and engage in the meditative process of weaving with it.

You will be foraging for seaweed, engaging with all its sensory elements: the colours, textures, touch and smell. Then, with all your chosen pieces you can explore how they interact by weaving them on a small handmade frame loom.

The process continues after the workshop- watch the seaweed dry and evolve over time into a unique, intricate wall hanging.

We will be spending all the time in the brisk, fresh sea air, and walking over the rocky beach to collect seaweed, so wear suitable footwear and clothing.

I want this to be accessible for all, so there are various prices depending on your income. Please be honest and pay what you feel; there will be no questions asked. If you have a higher income and pay it forward, your generosity goes a long way as you're enabling art to be accessible for all.

If you need assistance with accessibility on to the beach or to collect seaweed, please get in contact and we can arrange some help.

Wonderful refreshments are available at Castle Beach Cafe, and there are public toilets on the beach.

No prior weaving experience is necessary, and this workshop is for all ages.
